Editorial Standards
We are committed to accuracy. When we get something wrong, we correct it — openly and without delay.
NewsTreats holds itself to the highest standards of journalistic accuracy. We verify facts from multiple credible sources before publishing. However, errors can occur, and when they do, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without minimizing the mistake.
We believe that acknowledging and correcting errors is a sign of journalistic integrity, not weakness.
When a factual error is identified — a wrong name, date, statistic, or other concrete fact — we correct the article immediately. A clearly labeled correction notice is appended to the article explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is.
For significant errors that materially affect the story, we may update the headline, re-evaluate our sources, and add a correction notice prominently at the top of the article.
When an article is not factually wrong but could be clearer or more complete, we may update it with additional context and note the update at the bottom of the article.
In rare cases where an article contains such fundamental errors that it cannot be corrected in place, we may remove it entirely. We will publish a note explaining why the article was removed.
If you believe you have found an error in one of our articles, please contact us. Include the URL of the article, the specific error you found, and the correct information with a source if available.
